history |
specification and details |
This coach was new in 1951 to Henderson of Alston with a slightly different style of bodywork having a closed radiator. It's history is unclear to us, however, we know that it passed to Memory Lane coaches some time around 1997. Sometime between Henderson of Alston and Memory Lane the radiator grille would have been changed to an open radiator.
LAO630 has been with us since 2009. Regretfully, we retired LAO630 from service in 2019. Parts for such a rare vehicle are increasingly hard to source or fabricate and it is a fitting tribute to this vehicles heritage and rarity that we now no longer use LAO630 on the road to keep it preserved in its current condition. |
